报告摘要:

Dr. Jun Zhang will present an overview of the biomedical photonics imaging programs that he has been working on. The research works that he has been focusing on include the development of Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (FDOCT), functional OCT, wavelength swept sources, miniature endoscopic probes, phase sensitive spectral domain microscopy, long imaging range FDOCT, multimodal imaging techniques including OCT/fluorescence imaging, OCT/ultrasound imaging, OCT/elastography etc.

报告人简介:

Dr. Jun Zhang is a tenure track Assistant Professor in Sun Yat-sen University-Carnegie Mellon University (SYSU-CMU) Joint Institute of Engineering and a jointly appointed Full Professor in School of Mobile Information Engineering in Sun Yat-sen University.

Dr. Zhang received his B.S. degree on Physics, M.S. degree on Optics from Fudan University and Ph.D. degree on Optics from Shanghai Jiaotong University(SJTU), respectively.

Dr. Zhang had been appointed as an Associate Professor of Physics in SJTU from 2001 to 2003. In 2002, Dr. Zhang joined the Beckman Laser Institute at the University of California, Irvine as a Postdoctoral Researcher.  In 2006, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Project Scientist.  In December 2011, Dr. Zhang joined the faculty of the Beckman Laser Institute as an Assistant Research Professor.

Dr. Zhang’s expertise lies in research and development of biomedical photonics imaging, particularly the new non-invasive and minimally-invasive technologies of optical coherence tomography (OCT), fiber optic endoscopy, fiber wavelength swept laser source, phase sensitive microscopy, multimodality technologies combing OCT, fluorescence, ultrasound, elastography and translation of these techniques to address clinical problems.  Dr. Zhang has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal papers. His publications have been cited more than 2300 times with an H-index of 28 according to Google Scholar.
