Abstract:

Single-pixel spectroscopy and imaging feature greatly reduced complexity and cost. Photonic time stretch (PTS) enables continuously running ultrafast single-pixel spectroscopy and imaging with unprecedented speed of tens of millions frames per second. In this seminar, I will introduce this new type of spectroscopy and imaging technique and its versatile utilities in biomedical, manufacturing and scientific applications. Emerging big data challenges in ultrafast imaging are discussed and our recent work on photonic data compression will be presented as well.

Short Bio:

Dr Chao Wang is a currently Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts at the University of Kent, where he first joined as a Lecturer in 2013.
