报告摘要:

Coherent radio over fiber (RoF) links have been studied recently for the transmission of high-data-rate wireless signals with increased receiver sensitivity and spectral efficiency. In a coherent RoF link, a transmitter laser source and a receiver laser source (as a local oscillator source) that are not phase locked are used. A coherent RoF link suffers from the performance degradation due to the phase noise and the unstable frequency difference introduced from the transmitter and local oscillator (LO) laser sources. In this talk, solutions to cancel the phase noise and to eliminate the impact from the unstable frequency difference will be discussed. The performance of a few experimentally demonstrated coherent RoF links with improved sensitivity and spectral efficiency will be discussed.

  

报告人简介:

Jianping Yao is a Distinguished University Professor and University Research Chair in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. He has been actively working in Microwave Photonics, and has made contributions to the broad area of Microwave Photonics, including photonic-assisted microwave signal and microwave arbitrary waveform generation, microwave signal processing, photonic integrated circuits for ultra-fast signal processing, and fiber-wireless communications. Prof. Yao is a Fellow of the IEEE, the Optical Society of America, and the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
