报告摘要:
Nanotechnology is squeezing. Analogous to the miniaturization of silicon chips that has revolutionized electronic devices over the past few decades, lightweight and planar optical components are key factors for enabling the development of easy-to-carry or wearable devices. In recent years, metasurfaces consisting of sub-wavelength structures provide us a new platform for simultaneously manipulating the amplitude, phase and polarization of electromagnetic wave. This opens a way toward compact and integrated optical devices with novel functionalities. In this talk, I will introduce the advantages of using metasurfaces for high-end optics. Subsequently, I will showthree devices: meta-holograms, spectropolarimetry and planar meta-lenses. The meta-holograms enhance storage capacity by saving information in multi-dimensions.The spectropolarimetry can measure polarization and spectral information in a snapshot. The planar meta-lenses in the visible allow diffraction-limited focusing, high imaging quality, and the ability to resolve chirality.
